Born into a family of musicians, the cellist Ana Percevic showed her strong motivation and interest for music at an early age. Not surprisingly, she entered the “School for musically gifted children” in Ćuprija (Serbia), as a student of Relja Ćetković. She graduated in 2009 and the same year, at age of 16, she became a student at the University of Music and performing Arts in Graz (Austria) in the class of Prof. Tobias Stosiek. Since then, she has performed extensively across Europe as a soloist and a chamber musician. After finishing her master studies in Graz, she decided to pursue with a specialization at Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln (Germany) in the class of Prof. Hans-Christian Schweiker. She is currently undertaking her master’s degree in chamber music in the class of Prof. Johannes Meissl at the University of Music and performing Arts in Vienna.

As a child, Ana already had the chance to performed as soloist with orchestra in the most prestigious concert halls of Serbia, namely Kolarac Hall and Sava Centar Hall in Belgrade . She also demonstrated a vivid affinity for chamber music and performed in various chamber music ensembles, such as in string trio with her brothers Ivan (violin) and Vladimir (viola), and in Cello ensemble with the cellist David Strange. At age of 14, Ana was invited to perform with Belgrade Philharmonic on the concert “Rame uz Rame”, where she was publicly recognised as a great talent and one of the most perspective cellists of her generation. In response to her outstanding performance, she was awarded with a new Violoncello from Philharmonic Belgrade.

 

As a confirmed soloist and chamber musician, Ana has already played in most European countries (e.g. Serbia, Italy, Croatia, Austria, Hungary, Romania, Slovenia, Germany, France, Netherlands, etc.) and in some of the most eminent concert halls of the continent, such as Wiener Musikverein, Wiener Konzerthaus, Musikverein Graz, Philharmonie Köln, Theater Aachen, Kunsthalle Wien, Kolarac Hall, Sava Center Hall, Cankarev Dom (Ljubljana, Slovenia), etc. As a soloist and chamber musician, Ana has won more than twenty 1st prizes and laureates. Following, is a non-exhaustive list of her achievements: International Cello Competition Liezen, Austria; International Competition “Petar Konjović”, Belgrade; International Competition “Vatroslav Lisinski”, Belgrade; 4th Chamber Music Competition “Brigitte-Kempen”, Germany; String-Festival (Sremska Mitrovica) Serbia, etc.

Ana has received masterclasses and lessons from world-leading professors, including Rudolf Leopold, Peter Bruns, David Strange, Gautier Capuçon, Gavriel Lipkind, Leonid Gorohov, Ksenija Jankovic, Istvan Varga, Stefan Popov, etc.

 

She also possesses a wide range of professional experiences, notably membership in Wiener Philharmonie IOIA Orchestra (Summer Academy), International Youth CEI Orchestra, Central Europe Youth Orchestra (Sarajevo, BiH) and Youth Philharmonic Belgrade. As a guest, she is regularly invited for the principal position in Louis Spohr Chamber Orchestra (Germany) and Orchestre Philharmonique Royal de Liege (Belgium). In addition, Ana enjoys exploring and performing different styles of music – she was one of the members of Terra Folk Ensemble (Slovenia). As a musician of versatility and diverse interests, she has played with contemporary ensembles like EOS Chamber Orchestra and worked with contemporary composers, such as Hans Karl Gruber, Johanna Doderer, Dejan Despić, Jinwook Jung and Hristina Šušak – on her piece “ANIMA”, which was performed at ECLAT-Festival in Stuttgart. In the last season, Ana has received few recitals organized by Lions Club Aachen and Rotary Club Aachen.

 

Ana particularly appreciates working with other musicians from different backgrounds in a chamber music setting. Her passion has led to cooperation with Beethoven Society of Music and Research, new international Concerts of Arts cycle in Vienna entitled “Friday Nights with Yury Revich”, WISE Wien International Soloist Ensemble aus Wien, and many others.

Ana’s contribution to the world does not end with performing music. In addition, she is engaged in charitable and philanthropic events. She is currently living her dream of traveling around the world educating and communicating through music.
